SHC will play the following roles in Compassionate Communities SG:
Shape the national discourse on compassionate communities by advocating for policies, raising awareness, and promoting the integration of palliative care within community settings.
Build the capacity of individuals, volunteers, and organisations by providing training, resources, and toolkits to empower communities to care for those facing life-limiting illnesses and bereavement.
Serve as a bridge between healthcare providers, social service agencies,grassroots organisations, and community organisations, fostering partnerships to co-create compassionate care initiatives.
Support and amplify community-driven projects that promote compassion, encouraging local ownership and sustainable efforts to improve quality of life for the sick with life-limiting illnesses and their families, beyond the patient’s passing.
